About

What is UPSTET (UP Super TET)?

UPSTET — widely known as Super TET — is the recruitment examination conducted for Assistant Teacher (and, in some cycles, Headmaster) posts in Uttar Pradesh's government primary and upper-primary schools. It's important not to confuse it with UPTET: UPTET only certifies that you are eligible to apply for a teaching post, while UPSTET is the exam that actually decides who gets appointed.

Not an annual exam

Unlike UPTET, Super TET isn't held on a fixed yearly calendar. It's conducted whenever the state government announces a fresh batch of Assistant Teacher vacancies — historically every one to a few years.

UPTET/CTET is mandatory first

You cannot apply for UPSTET without a valid, currently-accepted UPTET or CTET qualifying certificate for the relevant teaching level.

2026 cycle: building up

A revised syllabus release and a recent Allahabad High Court direction to move recruitment forward both point to a new UPSTET cycle taking shape — though the formal notification is still awaited.

Upcoming UPSTET Recruitment 2026 — Eligibility, Age Limit & Exam Pattern

The official UPSTET 2026 notification has not been released at the time of writing. The details below are indicative, based on how previous Super TET cycles (including the 2019 and 2021 rounds) were structured — treat them as a preparation guide, not a confirmed notification.

Eligibility

  • Valid UPTET or CTET qualifying certificate for the relevant paper.
  • Uttar Pradesh domicile has typically been required — confirm per notification.

Age limit

  • Roughly 21–40 years for general category, based on past cycles.
  • Standard relaxation for OBC / SC / ST / PwD / women as per UP government rules.
  • Exact limits are fixed fresh in each notification — always confirm there.

  • No negative marking in the most recent pattern.

Why it matters

Why UPTET Is Important for UPSTET

UPTET (or CTET, in most recent cycles) isn't just a formality — it's the gate you must pass through before UPSTET even becomes an option.

1. It's the mandatory first step

Without a valid UPTET or CTET certificate, your UPSTET application won't even be accepted. It's the single non-negotiable prerequisite across every recent recruitment cycle.

2. It's valid for life

Once you clear UPTET or CTET, the certificate carries lifetime validity — you don't need to re-appear for it before each future UPSTET cycle.

3. Your score can still count

In some past recruitment cycles (such as the 69,000 Assistant Teacher recruitment), a portion of the final merit was weighted using the TET score — so treat it as more than a pass/fail hurdle. Confirm the exact weightage in each notification.

4. CTET is a valid alternative

In most recent cycles, UPBEB has accepted a valid CTET certificate as equivalent to UPTET for UPSTET eligibility — useful if you're from outside UP or already hold a CTET pass.

UP TET Answer Key, Guides, Grades & Division-wise Result

The essentials candidates search for most — answer key, qualifying percentage, and a full district reference — gathered in one place.

UP TET Answer Key

After every UPTET exam, a provisional answer key is released on the official website, usually within a few days to a couple of weeks. Candidates get a short window to raise objections against specific questions with supporting evidence, after which a final answer key is published and used to prepare the result.

Use the provisional key only to estimate your likely score — your official result is what counts, and it may differ slightly if any objections are accepted.

UP TET & UPSTET Guides

UPTET is the state eligibility test — clearing it (with lifetime validity) simply certifies that you're allowed to apply for a teaching post. It doesn't offer a job by itself.

UPSTET (Super TET) is the actual Assistant Teacher recruitment exam. You can only apply for it once you already hold a valid UPTET or CTET certificate — so the two are steps in the same pipeline, not alternatives to each other.

Passing, Grades & Percentage

UPTET and CTET don't award letter grades — they're qualifying (pass/fail) exams with a fixed minimum percentage. UPSTET works differently: instead of a fixed passing percentage, a category-wise cut-off is announced along with the result each cycle, and only candidates above it are ranked on the merit list.

General60% (90 / 150)
OBC / SC / ST55% (≈ 82–83 / 150)
